The Norco College Athletic Director, Mark Hartley, announced the appointment of Drew Rea (pronounced Ray) as Head Men's Soccer Coach in January. 

Rea brings with him almost 15 years of professional coaching experience. "My biggest goal is to push these young student athletes to a four year school. We will open doors to some of the best NCAA and NAIA programs in the country," said Rea. "Another goal of mine is to find the local talent that is leaving our area and help them win and mold these young men into top student athletes."

He started his coaching career in 2006 at California State University, Dominguez Hills as the Toros recruiting coordinator. He helped CSUDH men's squad to the 2008 CCAA National Championship and women's team to the 2009 NCAA national championship game. In all, he spent 13 seasons with the Toros, helping the programs win four CCAA tournament championships. In 2018, Rea joined the staff at UC Riverside. The Highlanders won the 2018 Big West Conference Championship for the first time in school history and set a number of university records. Rea is currently involved in the youth soccer community, serving as the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) boys' director and coach of two teams at the Legends FC ECNL circuit. 

Rea, who played three years at California State University, Bakersfield, was a first-team NSCAA/Adidas All-American as a senior, a second-team All-American as a junior, and a three-time, first-team All-Far West Region selection and a first-team All-NCAA honoree. Rea started all 61 matches during his career with the Roadrunners and concluded his career with 16 goals and seven assists (39 points) despite playing almost exclusively from the back line as the center back. A Southern California native, Rea played professional soccer in Ireland for Glentoran and Sligo Rovers from 2005-06 until a torn ACL/MCL ended his career. 

Rea earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology for CSU Dominguez Hills and a master's degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University.

Rea reported, "Norco College is my new home. I've never liked to jump around as a coach or player, so I hope to make NC a program where alumni come back years from now and reflect and reminiscence on all the positive memories they had here with us."
