Darold Rose - Honor Roll and Scholar Athlete

In the competitive realm of college athletics, Norco College's Darold Rose is not just a standout on the soccer field; he's making waves in the academic arena, achieving a remarkable feat that sets him apart from his peers. Rose has earned a coveted spot on the honor roll for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A), a remarkable accomplishment that places him in an exclusive group of scholar-athletes.

Among the 21 athletes who made the 2022-23 3C2A honor roll, Darold Rose is proudly recognized for his outstanding accomplishment, maintaining a commendable 3.6 GPA. His exceptional academic achievement is particularly noteworthy, as he is the sole representative from the Inland Empire Athletic Conference to secure a spot on the honor roll.

Rose, a dedicated men's soccer player at Norco College, initially pursued his education while attending Cal State Los Angeles. It was during this time that Coach Rea recognized his soccer talents and successfully recruited him to join the Norco College soccer team. Despite maintaining full-time status at Cal State Los Angeles, Rose embraced the opportunity to become a crucial part of the Norco College soccer program.

As a young adult with dreams of playing soccer in college, Rose not only excelled on the field but also maintained an impressive 3.6 GPA. Currently employed by Faith Rea at Casa Colina Physical Therapy, the wife of Coach Rea, Rose aspires to pursue a career in physical therapy after completing his education.

Coach Rea speaks highly of Rose, describing him as hardworking, driven, a role model, and a leader. "He is genuinely a nice person with a big smile," says Coach Rea. The coach expresses confidence in Rose's ability to do the right thing for the team, both on and off the field.

Despite the challenges of commuting, Rose has become an integral part of the Norco College soccer program, leaving a lasting impact.

Coach Rea, known for recruiting over 30 athletes a year, including international players, recognizes the exceptional talent and character that Darold Rose brings to the team.

The California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) is the governing body overseeing the intercollegiate athletic activities of nearly 24,000 men and women student-athletes in the state. Rose's accomplishment reflects not only his personal dedication but also the commitment of Norco College to nurture well-rounded scholar-athletes who excel both in sports and academics.
