Meet Drew Rea, the game-changing Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach at Norco College, whose journey from Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, to becoming a U.S. citizen in February 2023 is nothing short of inspiring.

Drew's soccer journey began in the late '80s when he and his family, including his parents Anita and Alaster Rea and siblings Aine, Ruth, and Richard Rea, moved to the United States due to challenges in Ireland. Drew's soccer talent quickly became evident as he showcased his skills at Aquinas High School, Western Michigan (D1), and CSU, Bakersfield (D2), and even played for renowned clubs like Glentoran FC and Sligo Rovers.

His playing career reached its pinnacle with notable achievements, including a CIF Title in 1998, two seasons as a First Team All-American, and three seasons as a First Team All-CCAA player.

Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Drew has left an indelible mark on every team he has led. From his tenure at CSU, Dominguez Hills (2006-2017) to UCR (2017-2018) and finally settling at Norco College since 2019, Drew's coaching acumen has been consistently outstanding. Additionally, as the Director of Soccer for Legends FC since 2017, he continues to shape the future of soccer.

Drew's coaching accolades speak volumes about his dedication to the sport and his players. With four CCAA titles at CSU, Dominguez Hills, a National Championship, a Big West Title at UCR, and the recent IEAC League Championship in 2023 with Norco, his coaching journey has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2023, he earned the well-deserved Coach of the Year Award at Norco.

Off the field, Drew finds strength and support in his loving family. His wife, Faith Rea, a Physical Therapist/the Director of the Coliseum at Casa Colina, and their two young children, Braydon and Emma, make up the pillars of his world. Residing in La Verne, CA, the Rea family is the driving force behind Drew's tenacious commitment to soccer, allowing him to dedicate countless hours to the sport he loves.

Coach Rea embodies a coaching philosophy that prioritizes family, education, and the holistic development of each student-athlete. He stands as a living exemplar and role model for the young men and women he guides, both on and off the field.
