Born and raised in San Diego, California, Jessica Llamas has always been deeply rooted in the world of soccer. Her journey as an athlete and scholar began with Albion Soccer Club before she committed to furthering her education as a first-generation college student at Cal Poly Pomona.
Jessica earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, where she excelled both academically and athletically as a member of the women's soccer team. During her collegiate career from 2017 to 2023, she showcased her talent as an Attacking Midfielder and served as Team Captain in her final two years. Her contributions on the field earned her recognition, including All CCAA Honorable Mention in 2019 and 2022 and the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award in 2021.
In addition to her achievements on the field, Jessica pursued her passion for academics, earning a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Cal Poly Pomona in 2023. Her dedication to both athletics and academics exemplifies her commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life.
Following her collegiate career, Jessica continued her involvement in soccer as a player for So Cal Crush FC in the United Women's Soccer League from 2018 to 2019. Leveraging her expertise and experience, she became a lecturer for Cal Poly Pomona's Kinesiology department, where she teaches Soccer Activity Courses.
Coaching Philosophy:
Drawing from her own experiences as a collegiate athlete, Jessica's coaching philosophy centers on holistic development. She believes in providing unwavering support to her players on and off the field, guiding them to excel as student-athletes and individuals. Jessica understands that the challenges and lessons learned in collegiate soccer are invaluable preparation for life beyond the sport. Thus, she is committed to empowering her players to navigate these challenges with resilience and integrity.
Jessica Llamas brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to her new Assistant Women's Coach role at Norco College. With her guidance, the team is poised for success both on the field and in their personal growth journeys.
