The Norco College Athletic Director, Mark Hartley, announced the appointment of Lynsey Jalayer as Head Women's Cross Country Coach in January. 

Jalayer brings a multitude of experience in many areas and looks forward to building a great future for the program and it's student athletes.  

Jalayer graduated from Temescal Canyon High School in 1997 and was a varsity athlete on the cross country, soccer and track teams. She was honored all four years for soccer on the All-League team while also earning Sunkist League MVP her senior year. As a cross country runner, her team not only won league championships but also qualified for the CIF and State championships. In her senior year, Jalayer won team League Championships in all three sports. She later joined the coaching staff at Temescal Canyon High School as an assistant soccer coach for two playoff runs from 2001-2003. 

She went on to have a distinguished college soccer career at California Baptist University (CBU) where she was part of the first team in school history to qualify for the National Tournament. She was team co-captain her junior and senior year, while earning All-Conference recognition in the Golden State Athletic Conference. She also earned Team Defensive MVP both years and was selected as GSAC player of the week her senior year. Jalayer earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a master's in Sport Management from CBU.  

Jalayer's college coaching career began on the soccer side at Norco College. In her first five seasons as a head coach, the women's soccer team set a school record for wins, earned a playoff berth for the first time in more than a decade and in 2008, she was named Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year.
